Basalt webbing is wrapped around an object (e.g. piping, valves) or placed between two surfaces (e.g. flanges) depending upon your application for protection from heat and fire. For instance, a very common application is on surfaces around boilers.

This insulating tape is excellent for wrapping pipes or as a medium between two surfaces like a flange. It can Handle service temperatures up to 800deg C and is an excellent plant solution for personnel protection and insulating tough spots. Texturized basalt fibre tape is fabricated from high-quality texturized basalt yarns that will not burn. It will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 800°C. During a single temperature exposure, it reaches up to 1000°C. Basalt tape has a 25% higher strength in comparison with fibreglass (E Glass). It resists most acids and alkalis and is unaffected by most bleaches and solvents.

Great for exhaust pipes and bike lag pipes.

Use some of our stainless steel tie wire & bands to fix this tape in place.
